Understanding the Fire Alarm System in the Apartment

SYSTEM EQUIPMENT INSTALLED:

  1. The equipment in apartment units in general consists of a sprinkler and a heat detector and a fire indicator LED. Sprinkler is a useful tool to extinguish fires automatically and this tool is part of a fire sprinkler system that will issue a water discharge when a fire is detected, or when it has exceeded a predetermined temperature.
  2. Equipment located in the splinker corridor area with a distance of 3-4 meters between sprinklers, smoke detectors on the emergency stairs and smoke detectors with a distance of 3-4 meters, as well as hydrant boxes placed in the middle of the corridor, usually not far from the elevator or stairs emergency with a 30 meter long hose along with the nozzle and the fire extinguisher box.
  3. The electrical panel room has equipment in the form of a CO2 fire extinguisher and a smoke detector and a junction box indicator to the MCFA.
  4. MCFA or Main Control Fire Alarm is an Alarm System control located in the Control Room.

HOW EACH FIRE ALARM SYSTEM EQUIPMENT WORKS:

  1. Heat Detector: Works to detect the presence of high heat temperatures in the installed unit room.
  2. Smoke Detector: Works to detect smoke.
  3. Sprinkler: works when the flame reaches the glass tube and the temperature reaches 60-70 degrees Celsius. the sprinkler will burst and circle the fire underneath.
  4. APAR: Light Fire Extinguisher is placed in a glass box and if you want to use it, first break the glass in the box.
  5. Hydrant box: Break the breakglass first to give a true fire alarm signal... meaning that there is a fire on that floor. Check whether the nozzle and hose are properly installed, open them slowly so that the water is evenly distributed to the hose and pull the hose and hold the nozzle properly towards the ignition source.

PROHIBITIONS TO BE FOLLOWED:

  1. Do not cover or cover the detector or sprinkler in the occupied apartment unit. If it's still closed since you handed it over, open it.
  2. Do not break the break glass on purpose, without a true fire.

Hopefully this short article, can add a little information, that the importance of correct and appropriate action in dealing with fire hazards in apartment buildings.
