Be careful your NIK is used by others

Population Identification Number (NIK) and Family Card (KK) are used as prerequisites for registration of starter packs in Indonesia. Based on government regulations, one NIK can only be used on 3 different numbers. However, there are still many who do not know how to check the NIK connected to any cellular card number. People need to check regularly because in many cases, NIK is used by other people for cellular card registration.

How to Check NIK and Cellular Card Number

Quoting the official Kominfo Instagram, Friday (27/8/2021), here's how to check the NIK connected to cellular card numbers from various operators:

  • Telkomsel
  • Call 188

  • Indosat
  • Visit the page https://myim3.indosatooredoo.com/ceknomor/index then enter your KK and NIK number

    Alternatively, send an SMS with the format: INFO#NIK, send to 4444

  • XL Axiata
  • USSD with format *123*4444#

  • Three (3)
  • Send SMS with the format: STATUS, send to 4444

  • Smartfren
  • Send SMS with the format: CEK, send to 4444

Cellular operator prepaid customers in Indonesia starting October 31, 2017 are required to register their prepaid SIM card. Registration is done by sending the NIK and KK number. Each person with one NIK and KK number can be used for a maximum of three cellular operators, the same or different.

This is in accordance with the provisions of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation No. 21 of 2017.

In the PM, Article 11 paragraph 1 states: "Prospective Prepaid Subscribers can only register themselves as referred to in Article 4 paragraph (2) at most 3 (three) MSISDN Numbers or Customer Numbers for each NIK on each Service Provider. Telecommunications.

" Meanwhile, paragraph 2 states, if the customer needs more than three numbers, the customer can only register at the outlets of the cellular operator service provider.

which applies to all operators of this prepaid SIM card for the number of residences and to protect consumers from crime via cellphones. Registration can be done through staff assistance at official mobile operator outlets or independently by sending SMS to 4444. The main requirement is that customers must prepare their NIK and KK numbers.
